Every one of these is work I have done for the brands on this page, usually in places with no road, no grid, and no second take.

Why it works

The director is also the expedition leader.

Most productions hire the creative and the logistics separately, then watch them argue at 5,000 meters. I have run both sides for thirty years: Teton Gravity Research from a garage in Jackson into one of the defining brands in adventure media, then fifteen years of OneEyedBird directing for the world’s biggest brands. Aircraft logistics, high-angle safety protocols now used by crews worldwide, and the no-ego call to turn around when the mountain says so.

Raised in rural Alaska, commercial fishing from age twelve. Wilderness First Responder. AIARE Level II avalanche certified. Jackson, Wyoming is home.

How a project runs

Three steps, no agency in between.

1

Call

Thirty minutes on the story, the place, and the risk. If I am not the right person, I will say so and point you to who is.

2

Plan

Treatment or shot plan, crew list, aircraft and permits, safety plan, budget. Day rate or project fee, written on one page.

3

Field and deliver

I direct and produce in the field, run the aerial unit when needed, and hand over edited masters or raw, your choice.

Contract directing, producing, expedition and aerial production

Have a film, a campaign, or an expedition that needs a director who has been there?

Remote pre-production and post from Jackson, Wyoming. Field work anywhere on earth. Day rate or project fee, one-line contract, no agency in the middle.
