Expeditions and field production

Seven continents. Everyone came home.

Thirty-five years of mountains, oceans, and ice, leading crews and science teams where the logistics are the story.

What I bring to a field production
  • Production and expedition leadership across seven continents and 35+ countries: Greenland, Antarctica, Alaska, Tibet, Chile, Kenya, deserts, oceans, the Arctic.
  • Specialist in aircraft logistics and high-altitude aerial operations; aerial cinematography at some of the highest recorded altitudes.
  • Developed high-angle film safety protocols now used by guides and film crews worldwide.
  • Global logistics management across remote and extreme environments: permits, crews, fixers, aircraft, evacuation plans.
  • Safety-first, no-ego decision making. On Everest in 2019 I brought the team down rather than push for the summit when conditions deteriorated.
  • Heli-ski guide (Chugach Powder Guides, Doug Coombs Valdez Heli-Ski Guides), professional ski patrol, 100+ first ski descents in Alaska, pioneered heli-ski terrain across four Alaskan ranges.
  • SOLS Wilderness First Responder. AIARE Level II avalanche certification.

Expeditions I lead today

Planet 5 Expeditions.

Through Planet 5, the company I co-founded in 2024, I host small-group journeys to Nepal, Kenya, Patagonia, and the Alps, each one a working film with a preservation program behind it. That work continues alongside contract production.

Taking a crew somewhere difficult?

Remote pre-production and post from Jackson, Wyoming. Field work anywhere on earth. Day rate or project fee, one-line contract, no agency in the middle.
